Our network of 30 branches stretches from the Shetland Islands to the Borders.
Branch Connect is the name we give to our network of branches.
Enable Communities is built on a nationwide network of branches – from the Shetland Islands to the Borders. Each branch operates as an independent charity, and has its own board of volunteer trustees. Many have been in existence for more than 30 years – we owe much of our growth and success to these branches, their members and their experiences.
Our branches often play a huge role in their local communities. Each branch offers its own unique programme of events and social opportunities to connect and empower local people. These can include:
social clubs and activities
outings and events
campaigning and fundraising
providing advice and support
Though they’re independently run, our branches are united by their shared mission of an equal society for every person who has a learning disability.
They’re also supported in their work by Enable Communities. For example, through our Branch Connect digital community, we make sure they can access the latest support and advice from the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). This helps branch trustees to understand their duties and responsibilities around running their charity.
The digital community keeps them up to date with what others across Enable Communities are up to. They can also connect with other branches to share advice, ideas and news about what’s happening across the network.
There are 30 Enable branches across Scotland. To find out how to contact your local branch, email us for info.
