International Day of Education

Today is the International Day of Education. This is a day promoted by the United Nations General Assembly. It aims to raise awareness about the importance of accessible and equitable education 

To highlight this, we are showcasing some of the programmes we offer to address social inequities. We strive for an equal society where everyone can live, work, and participate in the communities of their choice. 

Enable Works is a leader in promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion across the UK.  We support young people in education to build the skills and aspirations to achieve well paid, sustainable careers. 

The Stepping Up programme has reached 75 schools across 15 local authority areas, supporting 1,000+ young people each year in their transition from school to work. 

Our Breaking Barriers enables young people who have learning disabilities the opportunity to attend one of the leading business schools in the UK.  

Founded by Enable, the University of Strathclyde Business School, and ScottishPower, the programme has grown to include the University’s Faculty of Science. It now partners with Balfour Beatty for work placements and Edinburgh Napier University, where students collaborate with corporate partners EY and Dayforce.
