Enable is delighted to welcome Martin Booth as the charity’s new Chief Finance Officer.
Martin brings extensive experience from across the public, private and third sectors to the role, having most recently served as Executive Director of Finance for Scotland’s largest local authority, Glasgow City Council, for over 6 years.
Previous roles have included Director of Finance and Governance for Glasgow Life, Chief Executive of Jobs and Business Glasgow, Head of Finance at the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA), and Management Consultancy roles with IBM and PwC. He previously served as a Trustee of Enable, and currently chairs the Audit Committee of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in a non-executive capacity.
Martin joins Enable at an exciting time for the charity as it continues to advance its impact and influence in Scotland, the UK and internationally.
Enable CEO Theresa Shearer FRSE said: “Martin brings a wealth of knowledge gained across sectors to support Enable at this challenging time for the social care and charity sectors. His understanding of the local government landscape provides a particularly valuable insight as we seek to work in partnership with colleagues across government, private and NGO sectors to develop long term sustainable solutions for the social care sector, its dedicated workforce and the people we work for.”
Martin Booth said: “I am delighted to join the team at Enable; an organisation which has established itself not only as one of Scotland’s most impactful charities, but as one of the country's fastest growing businesses over the last decade. I am familiar with both the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the charity from my previous service as a Trustee, and I look forward to working with the team to advance our purpose-driven mission to work for an equal society where everyone has the right to live, work and participate in the communities of their choice.”
