Enable hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday 29 November 2024 at The University of Strathclyde Technology and Innovation (TIC) in Glasgow.
The annual event brought together colleagues and members from across Enable and was an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our staff and our members.
Together, members listened to reports from key delegates including Group CEO Theresa Shearer; Director of Finance, Alan McQueen; and the Trustee Report, Alan Meek.
Addresses were also heard from Ivan Cohen, Convenor of Scottish Council, and Kirsty Kennedy-Hyman, co-chair of National Self-Advocacy Forum as well as the Morven Wood Memorial address which will be delivered by the Right Honourable Ken Macintosh. Membership Ambassador Heather Gilchrist also presented the Europe in Action following this year's activities.
The day wrapped up with our Member and Staff Awards, celebrating the work of our members and employees across the three pillars, all of whom work tirelessly throughout the year to enrich the lives of those we serve.

The Enable Awards is a chance to show our appreciation as we rounded off another AGM in celebration of the outstanding and inspiring work of both our members and our staff celebrating those who have lived the charity’s values and made a real difference to people’s lives.
CEO Enable Theresa Shearer FRSE, said: “In the year in which we celebrate our 70th anniversary, 2024 marked our ninth consecutive year of growth in impact and influence as a leading charity advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion. We expanded our reach, focused on frontline investment, and pursued excellence in social care, employability, and campaigns.
“Thank you to our Enable team, Trustees, members, supporters, and fundraisers for helping us drive change and deliver exceptional results across the charity. We look forward to continuing to grow our impact for the people we work for in the years and decades to come.”
