An introduction to Annie:
Annie lives in her own flat in Edinburgh and is supported to live independently. She is a lovely young woman who enjoys spending time with her team. Although she has a physical disability, she is fully capable intellectually and has numerous qualifications.
As Annie, who has a pretty wicked sense of humour, enjoys having a chat and a laugh with her team, it is important to her that they have a good sense of humour too.
Another thing Annie really likes is going to Edinburgh and Scotland home rugby games with her Stepdad and she regularly visits the local library to get both printed and audio books. Visiting nearby Sainsbury’s for shopping is also a favourite as she does love a bargain!
Annie likes watching the news, movies and a variety of other programmes, particularly on Netflix and Disney+, and she likes to chat about these with whoever is supporting her that day. She also enjoys watching a variety of sports on TV including tennis, athletics and rugby, to name a few.
Christmas time is her favourite time of the year as she loves the atmosphere and, of course, Christmas movies, which she tries to resist watching from September … but usually fails! Annie also likes music and she especially likes pop and rock and enjoys watching music videos on her TV or computer.
Annie needs a dedicated team around her who are compassionate and person centred and who will respect her wishes, whilst providing the physical support for her to maintain her independence.
Annie would like a team who enjoy supporting her in these interests and are able to make her feel happy and safe whilst enabling her to live her best life!
If this is you, we would love to hear from you.
That is why Annie needs you! Will you bring your best so that Annie can live her best live?
Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.
ENABLE creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
