Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
Let us introduce you to Robbie and Matthew:
Robbie loves being outdoors and connecting with nature. Robbie is adventurous, sporty and loves exploring Aberdeenshire. A typical day could be going with Robbie to his work at a nearby outdoor community or adventuring around Aberdeenshires many castles...or even going rock climbing! In his downtime, Robbie enjoys video games and keeping up with his many hobbies. Robbie receives support Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 and occasional evenings. Sometimes, Robbie would like to have support at the weekends to do something different. Robbie experiences down days, and his staff team help him to keep motivated and engaged. It is not always possible for Robbie to enjoy what people might consider "simple pleasures" without proper dedicated support.
Matthew is also very outdoorsy. He loves fresh air and keeping active. Matthew is happiest with a task that requires a wheelbarrow and some elbow grease. A typical day is usually supporting Matthew to his work in rural Deeside, then coming home to wind down if front of the telly. Occasionally, Matthew likes to mix things up a bit and have a rake around his local charity shops and go for a walk. Matthew is non-verbal but has his own creative way of communicating with his staff team. Matthew likes routine and predictability, as well as getting to work hard in a job he loves. Matthew can achieve this with a strong dedicated team around him.
That is why Robbie and Matthew need you! Will you bring your best so that they can live their best lives?
