Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
Let us introduce you to Jane:
People who know me will say that I have a great sense of humour and love to have a laugh! I am a friendly person and like to be active and to enjoy activities in and around my home and would look to be more active in my community.
Jane’s personal relationships are very important to her, and she requires her Personal Assistants to support her to maintain good links with her sister, children and grandchildren.
Jane enjoys being at home watching, movies and the soaps on TV. Her passion is football and she's a strong football supporter, she likes to go to most of the home games. Jane's staff team would support her in choosing social activities and supporting her to attend, such as going for a coffee or some retail therapy.
Jane has complex and specific health and communication needs which impact all aspects of her life. Jane will require her Personal Assistants to support her in maintaining independence and dignity in all aspects of her life.
You should be committed, reliable, motivated, proactive, creative and enthusiastic as well as adaptable. A good sense of humour is a must. You must also have a positive and flexible outlook to your work and be able to work on your own and as part of a team. An understanding of person-centred values are key to supporting Jane to plan and work towards her outcomes. Flexibility is required as the hours of work may vary. Experience is desirable although not essential, only the right attitude and values are essential.
If you think you share the same interests and have the commitment, dedication, and above all, desire to support Jane to get the most out of life; then please apply now!
That is why Jane needs you! Will you bring your best so that Jane can live her best life?
