Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
Let us introduce you to the people you could be supporting:
Daniel is a gentleman who lives in Kilmarnock and likes to get out and about with support, He has recently got a car which has improved his quality of life as he can now visit places out with his community. Daniel requires support with all aspects of his daily life and loves to spend time with friends, visiting parks, shops and also days out to Glasgow, he lives in his own tenancy and is supported from 07.00 - 22.00 every day. He is supported overnight on a shared basis by a local responder service. Daniel likes Personal Assistants who will support him to find new places to go and also continue with the activities he enjoys, he also like to spend time at home when he chooses. Loves holidays abroad and would like Personal Assistants who can support him with this and that he can enjoy a laugh with.
Alan is a gentleman who lives in the Shortlees area of Kilmarnock, he requires support to live in his home independently. Alan attends a local centre some days so he requires support in the morning to get breakfast and ready for the centre and then support when he returns later in the day. On the days that Alan doesn't attend the centre he is supported for the full day into evening. Alan loves watching TV especially Football and sometimes spends time with his family to watch big games. He also likes to go to football games and requires his Personal Assistants to enjoy this activity too as he likes to discuss the players and the game. Alan has a great personality and can communicate well with words once you get to know him.
That is why Daniel and Alan need you! Will you bring your best so that they can live their best life?
